Tsugaru-Soto-Sangunshi is one of the history books telling ancient Japan. I'm sure there are many misunderstandings and prejudices in the book, but it should be not ignored. Since any history books seem not to tell the true history of the ancient time, we need to scrutinize and compare all the cultural artifacts as meaningful materials.
In Sangunshi, Mt. Iwaki in Tsugaru is expressed as a symbol of the ancient Tohoku kingdom and it also tells some ancient emperors of Japan were from Tohoku kingdom.
Those emperors who reined Tohoku and other areas of Japan at the same time can be the emperors whose records were lost in other history books. Because if it is true, the truth could be a kind of humiliation and threat to the people who believe their own pedigree and take advantage of blood connection to keep their high social status.
Of course, I have no idea judging what is true by now. So I went to Tsugaru this week to find some historic pieces which show the answer to the question.
The flash above Mt. Iwaki in the morning. Is it a sign of hope or desperation? Maybe both. (pictured Sep8 from Hirosaki city)
QUI AIT OSTENDE MIHI GLORIAM TUAM RESPONDIT EGO OSTENDAM OMNE BONUM TIBI ET VOCABO IN NOMINE DOMINI CORAM TE ET MISEREBOR CUI VOLUERO ET CLEMENS ERO IN QUEM MIHI PLACUERIT RURSUMQUE AIT NON POTERIS VIDERE FACIEM MEAM NON ENIM VIDEBIT ME HOMO ET VIVET
And he said: Shew me thy glory. He answered: I will shew thee all good, and I will proclaim in the name of the Lord before thee: and I will have mercy on whom I will, and I will be merciful to whom it shall please me. And again he said: Thou canst not see my face: for man shall not see me, and live.
